A Prayer for Healing the Land

After moving on a lake in South Georgia last year, we discovered that in the warm summer seasons, there is an infestation of non-biting midgeflies or as they are commonly known - “blind mosquitos” They are somehow some super species resistant to almost every natural known and chemically made spray on the market. Recently, my husband and I spent an evening fervently praying over our land and property, as well as the lake. We thanked and praised God for the land, we repented on behalf of sin committed by us and others back through the beginning of time, we asked God to cleanse the land of all defilement and restore to its original design. We continue praying fervently. I have waited to see the results of that prayer over a little time. Although The number of bugs have diminished, they are not entirely removed. (I believe additional steps are necessary with our water and fish! )
But the most interesting result however were the 6 pelicans that had come to reside on the lake the very next day! I also started seeing more species of birds. I don’t think it was a coincidence, in fact I know it was not. God wants to heal our land. Many people quote 2 Chronicles 7:14, but how many of us read with respect that God wants to heal our actual physical land!
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land “ (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Mark and John Sandford, explain in their book Healing the Earth , that “just as the earth fell with us , it can be restored to the degree we are restored through our prayers and continual transformation to the likeness of Christ” 2 Corinthians 3:18. We can not forget this mandate to restore our own hearts.- not only that of the land in this prayer Our own sanctification heals our land.
The purpose of this article is to give you a guideline for prayer to pray over your land. For the biblical basis, there are many books written, I do encourage you though to always ask the Lord what to pray and use this as a guideline, and whether or not something on your heart is ok to pray - God always honor his inquiry! And according to Jude 10 -not to revile any angelic (or demonic) beings sensed over your property but ask Jesus to rebuke any spirits on your behalf as we can receive backlash for prayers not prayed with the proper respect and heart.
PRAYER FOR HEALING AND BLESSING THE LAND
Use this as a guideline and follow Holy Spirit for specifics.
Father I thank you for this land and what you have given to us. Your scripture says in Psalms 19:1 that the heavens declare the glory of God and I thank you for this land that you have given us and how it declares your glory. I thank you for it’s beauty that points to you the creator of heaven. Thank you for your marvelous creation that you have made. We know that you came to die to restore all things which includes coming to restore the land as well.
I stand in awe of you on the land and thank you for your purposes for it. Lead me to pray over it and open my own ears to hear how you are praying and what you are asking of me. I ask you to go through its timeline of this property and cleanse it in the name of Jesus. I ask you to cleanse this land of any act of sin that did not give glory to you or worshiped the creation rather than creator. I/we repent on behalf of any sin on the land that was an act of blasphemy to the Lord and didn’t give glory to you. I/we repent of behalf of the people and for all sins committed on this property since its birth. We repent for every sin that did not give glory to you, or did not give praise to you. We repent for every way people directly disobeyed your law, or didn’t do what you have asked when they knew what was right. (Ask the Lord for him to reveal specific sins) We repent for our own sins that we have committed…. and for every sin that was committed on it. We ask forgiveness for those who have not taken care of the land, or misused it in any way. And we plead the blood of Christ over the land.
I bring to you all the physical violence, sexual sin, any violence or abortion, suicide or torment or abuse of any kind that was committed on it in any way and bring it under the work, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ and ask you to cleanse it of any results or reaping of it and rebuke any spirit associated with the sins or remaining on the land . (For our specific property which was the site of the bandstand of a holiday park… we repent on behalf of all sins committed by the owners, band performers, people, and one one on it coming to be entertained, any business transaction that was not done in integrity, thinking of others or any sin in the making of the business or end that did not glorify God) I/we repent and renounce any sin committed against the land itself, or any curse and ask you to cleanse the land of it.
I ask you to bless and cleanse this property by the blood of Christ and cleanse it from any sin committed on it or any occult practice or anything that went against your perfect will Father. I/repent and renounce all pacts and agreements and curses that were performed on this land and repent of any activity that was not of you and ask you to cleanse the land from any effects, curses on the land. I/we ask you to put it all under the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross - and his resurrection. We ask you to rebuke any spirit that is not of you in the name of Jesus.
We dedicate this property to you Lord, and to be used for your glory. We stake the work of Christ’s death and resurrection and ascension on the borders of this property and dedicate it to you Jesus. Would you cleanse it Let the record go back to the beginning of the lands birth and would you remove all old covenants, pacts, judgments, agreements and curses by the power and blood of Jesus Christ. Would you free this land of any ungodly leans, reaping or covenants of any kind in Jesus name.
Lord would you give it a new prophetic name. (listen and pray for the prophetic name and destiny) We dedicate this property to you and we ask you to restore it to its original design and purpose. We ask you to bless the land and that the land would yield its produce, that it would produce the fruit and bless you and cry out in praise to you. We ask you to release your blessing and dedicated it all to you.
We personally repeated all this for the the lake on our property as well, paddling around the lake to listen to anything the Lord had said. I repented on behalf of others not taking care of the lake as they should and asked the Lord restore it to its original design as well as helping us to do what we could do and helping us to know how to restore it to its proper design.
